mexico {part 2}

so in our mexico trip pictures {part 2},
we begin with a few moments that document the reality of traveling so far,
to get here,
with three small children.
enter baggage.
lots of it.

four large suitcases,
two backpacks,
a toy carry-on,
mr.m.'s bag, my purse...
and THE pot. {in the polka dot bag}
the pot was actually my reward souvenir for packing all those bags.

it's kind of like this one.
yes, it's a bit large.
yes, it required handling with care.
yes, it had to be carried on.
and no, I did not end up toting it myself-
that privilege fell to our "manny".
so here's my official thanks to uncle m. for carrying it for me.
{thanks uncle m. you're the best! and since you carried it,
you can drink out of the pot anytime you're at our house}!

now enter the hotel room.

one hotel room + 2 adults + 2 toddlers + 1 baby.
so, since our room was overtaken by a massive, romantic,
double, whirlpool tub
{which would not be used for any of the above purposes}-
we tore apart one of beds.
metal frame and box springs and piled them on and in the bathtub.

one mattress on the floor {for kiddos who still roll out of their beds},
one pack in play in the corner,
and one FABULOUS LIFE SAVING white noise maker-
{thanks to my friend MD for recommending it- brilliant MD!!}
and we actually slept okay.
of course swimming all day long, in the fabulous pool- helped too.

we did venture off the resort one afternoon,
for some shopping in downtown Cancun,
where I acquired the above mentioned: pot.
{thanks uncle j. for using your mad bargaining skills to get me a good price}

and thanks again to my friend MD.
she let me borrow her ergo- and now I am in love with it.
it-again-saved our lives.
Rbaby loved it, and it's a good thing- because she basically lived in it-
the.entire.trip.
{sorry for the blurry pic- took a cheaper camera along since my brain was maxed out remembering all our other gear, and I didn't want to add my nice camera to the: "things we left in mexico" list.}

and now to the pool.
we drank lots of delicious things at the pool bar.
all the kid's learned to say: strawberry or pinacolada daiquiri,
and loved eating hot, stone baked, pizza poolside.
{pardon sweet ggirls' suit issues}

DSCN5495

here are the sweet girlies all dressed up for their big, flower gal, debut.
they were SO thrilled to be part of this beautiful day!

DSCN5515

this was photo worthy-
our kids NEVER fall asleep anywhere but their beds-
so we were a.m.a.z.e.d. at their slumbering little selves.

DSCN5549

"goodbye cancun. thanks for making me a world traveler at 9 months of age."

ps. still more to share......we haven't even gotten to the wedding yet.
