my moms day

i had a very sweet and simple mom's day.
it was perfect.

homemade boxed coffee cake. {our favorite!}
a sweet little peony bush to plant in our garden.
a haircut.
a time to leisurely peruse the latest magazines during my haircut!
a mom's day candy-o-gram {from church}.
a gift of completed home improvement projects finished on the day-
from Mr. M.
a corsage from them all- to wear to church.
{a mothers day tradition passed down from my own mother}

a card from NBoy.
{yes. that's me. driving a spider truck.}



a paper cut flower from GGirl:



a potted flower from NBoy:




and the gift of mothers day pictures together.
of which they cheerfully participated in-
because we bribed them with candy.



and because NBoy wanted to give me a mothers day "kiss,"
aka lick.
because he's a boy.
and little boys enjoy doing things to make their mothers squirm a little.
{because I did squirm.
since I had just applied my make up.
because it was mothers day.
because I wanted to put some on for at least that day.
because I like make up.
because make up wearing, is a rare event most days- at this time in my life.}



and a sweet kiss from my darling daughter.
to round out the morning.



and because we all know who really does the work on mom's day-
when your kids are little {and sometimes when they're big}....
thanks, Mr.M. it was a delightful moms day. ;).

ps. it's hard to believe it's been 2 years since this mom's day.
