our candy fall festivities,
began with carving our pumpkins.
i always insist on hosting our first full night "of fire"
...in the fireplace- on pumpkin carving nite.
so even if it's 55 degress...and we're sweating....sorry mr.m....
i will relentlessly beg for my fire...
and yes- i'll admit to maybe being a little more insistent since i'm a preggo mama. {!!tradition!!}
and of course- the boys had lots of fun,
scooping out the goo.
and then- if we're really honest- we'll let you know we turn on a show for the littles....
this is how we get our pumpkins carved.....
while avoiding needless emergency room visits from flying knives and rougue pumpkin seeds....
then since our children are already a mass of pumpkin slime & seed goo....
we traditionally insist on adding sticky melting s'mores to complete the nite.
but THREE adorably sticky thumbs up?
um...totally worth it!
the next week- off we went for a night of neighborly visits...
and some candy too.
after a gorgeous night-
watching our storm trooper march,
our fairy baby float, and our ballet girl dance along.....
we headed home to look thru our candy.
and since we had apparently not had enough sugar...
we continued our candy nite tradition of caramel apples...
with all the good topppings.
apple + caramel + sea salt + chocolate...this preggo mama may have swooned just a little.
and then of course, after the littles were asleep with candy crumbs & caramel rings around theirs mouths....
mr.m. and i....may or may not have taken our "parental tax" from their candy bags.
but hey....that candy tax?....well, it's tradition too!
{just for fun...and tradition...here's last year's candy nite.}
