a festive halloween

we had a sweet halloween-
and we have the tummy ache's to prove it.

this year we headed out for round one-
a "trunk or treat".
in tow- luke skywalker, princess dorothy & baby cinderella



there are so many reasons why a "trunk or treat" is brilliant-
but i do think most of them apply to parents of small children!

lots of candy,
little walking,
hordes of children and adults to block the gusty wind-
{and to share body mass warmth},
free popcorn & hot chocolate for the adults.

perfection.

the only thing that could have made it better?
a starbucks stand-
passing out free salted caramel mocha's....
but i suppose only this mama would appreciate drinking her "candy".




we also headed out in our neighborhood,
with this spunky bunch of folks,
to gather more candy....because we'd already
every.single.bite.of.candy.
from the trunk or treat- the night before.............

{gasp!}

oh....come now......that's so NOT true.
you know me.

i am the mama that rations the candy.
every 5 year olds nightmare candy mama.



and rbaby needed a costume change.
she completed this costume....




since at this stage in her 15 months old life,
she's a busy as a bee.
