a tooth party

today we went to the dentist,
for the first time.
now, i know nboy is already five-
and no- we had not made a visit yet.

with a calculated son like nboy,
one must make sure the first experience
is highly positive.
or else- every following visit
could be very extremely challenging,
just to get him in the door.

add the fact that sweet ggirl,
would be observing his every reaction,
thus our first visit would need to be GREAT!

so, endure my mama bragging for one moment,
while i tell you how thrilled i am with my mama instincts
-about this particular situation-

because he was marvelous!

he did it all.
every single thing- they asked him to do.
xrays.
teeth cleaning.
he ruled this visit.



he did not shed a tear.
he did not whisper a whine.
i did not have to resort to desperate bribery.



he did ask a bazillion dental questions.
{and a few questions about our hygienists' knowledge of star wars}
he did examine all the dental tools before hand.
he did request to sit more upright in the dental chair.
he did prefer blazing cherries flavor over princess lemon lime.



mom, you were right-
that wasn't hard at all.
actually-
i think i liked it.



miss ggirl went next.
she acted like a pro-
thanks to nboy's fabulous example.



she did not cry a tear.
she did not want to sit on my lap.
she did request princess lemon lime.
she did want a dora toothbrush.
she did sit up in the chair for her tooth cleaning.



i did it mama!
i so happy!



and now for the good stuff.
did you know they have balloons at the dentist office?
attached to goodie baggies with stickers & toothbrushes.
and a token toy machine too?



what's that?
you'd like some vanilla soft serve,
after your teeth cleaning?
you bet!
they've got that too.



so, although i felt our dental party favors
were a teeny bit excessive....
they've earned a loyal fan in this mama.

best trip to a doctors office.
ever.
