and will act as good blood sugar stablizers- aka protien.
in my house,
protien + after nap crabby kiddos= happier kids {for a little while at least}.
this one is a crowd pleaser- they love it, and I want them to eat it,
because I get to add healthy mix in's, and they get to add the chocolate chips........."to even out the healthi-ness," as Mr.M. says.
I try to make it as easy as possible, by using ingredients
which are all purchased right off the shelf, and used right out of the container.
things like: flaxseed meal, almond butter, agave, honey.

2 C old fashioned oats
3 T flaxseed meal
3/4 C smooth peanut butter, almond butter, soy butter or any type of peanut butter like ingredient.
1/2 C honey, maple syrup or guava syrup
1 T brown sugar
3/4 C dried cherries, raisins, chocolate chips, almonds, sunflower seeds, or sweetened coconut flakes.
preheat your oven to 400.
place honey, peanut butter, and brown sugar in microwave safe bowl.
line 9x9 baking sheet with parchment paper.
spread oats & flaxseed meal in baking pan. place in oven. toast for 5-10 minutes, stirring once or twice.
while oats are toasting, microwave honey, peanut butter, and brown sugar till warmed and soft (2-3 minutes). do not allow to boil.
in large bowl mix toasted oats with peanut butter mixture. add in cherries or other mix in. if using chocolate chips- wait till mixture is cooler- or they will melt as you mix.
firmly press down into 9x9 pan.
cut when cooled.
{yes, this is a no-bake granola bar recipe- which makes it even better}!
