a trip to remember

RBaby, Mr. M. & I just returned from a lovely (although incredibly quick) trip to Philadelphia to celebrate my brother, Uncle J, and soon-to-be-sister-in-law, darling Auntie B! We had the pleasure of meeting and spending some time with her sweet family who hosted a large, fall filled, Engagement Party for them, complete with a cake and glitter painted pumpkins in their front yard. It was so pretty. While there we enjoyed plenty of traditional Pennsylvania Dutch shopping and food. We ate our hearts out at the Shady Maple, watched the Amish pass us along the roads with horse drawn carts and buggy, relished in the gorgeous rolling hills, awed at the forests' of trees turning breathtaking fall colors, and ooooh'ed at the neat little farms that make up this delightful part of the country!

Here is our family now including future-Auntie B.

And of course, some great live music and fun young people brought out the dance animal in all of us...........and we "got down" with some sweet moves which probably- no definitely- dated us back to when we were "cool" (the late 90's)! {Although in this pic, Auntie R. is legitimately cool since she just celebrated her big 20th during the trip.}

We wrapped up our trip with a quick jant to Philly to grab some cheesesteaks at Geno's. The line was still down the street when we arrived at 2pm; and your sandwich choices....we'll just say they keep it simple. You could get your cheesesteak: with or without onions, and your choice of provolone, cheddar or cheese whiz. Cheese Whiz?! {I didn't know that was still in demand as a condiment.} I must admit the Philly Cheesesteak didn't impress me much, but the cheese whiz soaked french fries.....now, those were pretty good.

Then we were off again. Home to the midwest and sweet NBoy & GGirl. They had an absolutely special time with their dear Grandma NeNe, Papa Coach & Auntie K! We are so thankful for the fun and sweet adventures they had, while we were gone!

ps. This little baby girl was an AMAZING traveler. Amazing. Although I think it had something to do with the fact that she was the only child, for the first time, with two parents to dote on her!
pss. A final congrats to the lovebirdies. We're so excited to be a part of your special wedding day in the summer!
