He has risen, indeed!

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday (yay, no for no Easter Sunday snow in the mid-west)! We celebrated this year with my family, who all traveled in from far away for the occasion. I have always loved the "heart preparation" events leading up to Easter, and it has been a joy to slowly add in rich traditions for our little family to repeat every year. After all, it is Eternally, the most significant holiday of our Christian calendar.
Memory Verse:
This week our family memory verse was Luke 24:34 "It is true. The Lord has risen." It has been so sweet to hear their little voices, saying this verse with great conviction. (And of course, the kiddo's get to choose a "bean" (jelly bean) for every time they say their verse.....yes, we're definitely embracing bribery for good habits at our house.)
Resurrection Eggs:
We have also celebrated by consistently playing with our Resurrection Eggs and reading the story that is included about each piece of the egg carton. NBoy has asked constantly to read this story and go through the eggs. It has been amazing to see how much he understands about the Easter story through this kid friendly, teaching kit.
Seder Meal:
Our sweet church community group celebrated a Seder Meal together. It was a beautiful time of remembering the Passover meal (in a way that is applicable to Evangelical Believers, and not just those who are Jewish).
Good Friday:
My dad led our extended family through the last Words of Jesus for our own Good Friday service, this year. It was a powerful time of reading scripture and sharing together some things that Christ has done in each of our lives this year.
Well, Easter has commenced, and although the echos of Christ's sacrifice on the cross of and our Eternal life with Him will remain freshly imprinted on our hearts and minds, we're off to start packing for the next part of the journey in our lives here on earth...............moving to our new house in two weeks!
