peas in her nose

Yes, our ever adventurous toddler has done it again- thrown her somewhat, young-child "seasoned" parents for a new loop.

Today, Mr. M., was home for lunch (** THANK GOODNESS**) and we ate a family favorite- Annies Mac N Cheese with peas. While we were eating GGirl kept sticking her fingers up her nose- not unusual at all for this kiddo- and on lunch went. I had left the table, busy in another room, when Mr.M. started yelling for me to get to the kitchen immediately. So, of course in I came, and there she was in Mr.M.'s arms with- a little green pea peaking out from her nose.

If we could see it, I supposed it would be easy enough to remove. Sure enough, a little gentle prodding and out it came.

THEN WE NOTICED THE OTHER TWO PEAS. ONE IN EACH NOSTRIL.

UP, WAY UP, (far enough to use a flashlight) in her cute button nose.

I contemplated for a second, the thought of going to the ER and having them take them out. But previous ER memories of waiting horribly long times in a crummy waiting room with two small children (shudder) made me reconsider.

Mr. M. gave me that look that said 'We can do this, right?' So we did. A pair of tweezers, a strong Mr. M., a very concerned older brother and a steady handed Mama- and wala- she's a pea free baby girl now.

Not to say little GGirl enjoyed the process. On the contrary, she put up such a fight, we almost relented- she seemed confident she was not going to survive the experience.

NBoy was very solemn through the whole thing- so I'm sure he will NEVER put anything up his nose. But, the jury is still out on G.- just see her little bathtub photo shoot (last month) in one two minute session she had her fingers up her nose multiple times.

ps. There is a little bit of family history concerning pea-in-nose placements, right Auntie S.?
