our home is obsessed with baking, this year.
this may or may not be in part- because of my growing baby belly.
but either way....
i've yet to hear one complaint about the amount of sugar-
we are creating & consuming.
and did i tell you- we're obsessed with baking all yummy things while still in your pajama's...at 10 am...
in our home?
it's officially a requirement....this year.
except for this guy...
he has to get dressed for school....i suppose.
we made a pineapple lovers dream cake- for our mr.m's birthday.
we added pinterest {a yearlong obsession for me} to our christmas list this year-
and made rudolph the reindeer donut holes....for nboys christmas class party.
nboy made his own personal reindeer into a "spider deer"....
and on a more humbling note...the cherry mash- bested this mama, again.
i think between doing dishes, a load of laundry, & fielding flying angel questions from ggirl...
i should not have ignored the cherry mash-as it boiled on the stove.
but i did. and the result was messy. sticky & messy.
and now our trash is a little overloaded with cute containers of hard tacky cherry unmentionables.
we've picked out our yearly ornaments...nboy and his space patrol robot.
ggirl & her ballerina.
and rbaby with her "brown bear."
about the brown bear & rbaby:
since nboy has become a kindergarten goer- his school mascot happens to be the "brown bear."
and "brown bear, brown bear" has been rbaby's favorite book this year...
add those two together, and rbaby has become toddler obsessed with brown bears.
thus you can imagine- her 2 year old- year...has now come to an epic close, at the bass pro santa land,
when she road a "brown bear" on their carousel.
oh bass pro shoppe.
how we love your free santa wonderland...and free winter indoor toddler zoo.
we feel guilty for not purchasing anything in your store...{since
thus, i have frequently justified our visits thru purchases of your delicious candy bags...
conveniently located near the cash registers- for pregnant mama's and wild children, alike.
{right now, we're obsessed with the cinnamon bears & green apple licorice.}
but in truth-
along with all this
and along with this
and that. and this too...
we are working hard to keep our eyes on the Manger.
to be obsessed with it.
to be obsessed with simple childhood joy- and wonder at the Miracles of the real Christmas.
as ggirl said- with awe in her eyes...after her Christmas preschool program:
"there really was a Baby Jesus, mama."
"really. He was really, truly born- under the star!"
"and they came. those wise old men, with gray hair- and brought Him THE most beautiful presents."
"did you really know that, mama?"
"did you really know that it's a true story?"
and i assured her- we did know.
we DO know.
it's a true story- her daddy and i have committed our lives to it.....
and this christmas season- that story- the Jesus one- is what i hope our home is obsessed with.
